Peggys Cove Nova Scotia

Just 30 minutes from Halifax is Peggys Cove........the most photographed area in North America
Population of just over 600
Formed with the earth's plates shifted and allowed molten to the surface, the glaciers/ocean tides formed this very unique landscape for all of us to enjoy
In 1962 the area was protected by a Preservation By-Law
Peggys Cove was founded in 1811

The iconic Lighthouse was first lit in 1915 and once housed a Canadian Post Office
Local painter/sculptor William E. deGarthe worked for 6 years on this piece of granite for a monument for all the  Nova Scotia fishermen lost at sea...... which is located in the village.
