Hiking the Routeburn Track in New Zealand

On the road in the South Island of New Zealand and making my way to the world -renowned  Routeburn Track
Key Summit is located near Fiordland and Mount Aspiring National Parks
Some parts of the trail is for experienced hikers only

The surface is all dirt and rock so needless to say wear the proper foot gear
The highest point of the  trail is near Harris Saddle of 1,300 m (4,300 ft)
Need to be aware of avalanches when approaching the mountains
A look at the South Island of New Zealand  where we are for this latest adventure
Besides the regular hazards of hypothermia, sunburn and rain....... there are also high cross winds when you walk this bridge lol
Lake MacKenzie
There are overnight accommodations to be used, but needs to be booked in advance
As you can see, many trails for all levels of fitness
Beauty of nature is all around us........ but one needs to be careful and respect the elements
To protect the grounds we have wooden walking tracks everywhere
